Product Description

  • A mellow green tea from Fuding (福鼎), Fujian, China

  • Withered, steamed and dried tea leaves rolled into small pellet shaped balls
  • A rich Gunpowder green tea that has a smoky, earthy flavor and sweet aftertaste
  • Beautiful clear pale yellowish color when brewed
  • Low caffeine tea (less than 10% of the caffeine in a cup of coffee)
  • Use 1-2 teaspoons per 8oz of water.  Brew at 203 ºF (95 ºC) for 1 to 2 minutes

     Zhū chá (珠茶) is Chinese name for gunpowder tea. Its name comes from its shape: rolled, pellet-like appearance is similar to gunpowder. In other areas this tea is named “green pearl” tea. One should not confuse Zhū chá with Jasmine Pearl tea or Dragon Pearl tea.
